Terms of Use

Agreement

These terms are a licence agreement between you and Kush Daga ("we", "us") for the StepGate iOS app ("StepGate"). By installing or using StepGate you agree to them. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two conflict, these terms take precedence to the extent Apple's agreement allows.

What StepGate does

StepGate blocks apps you choose using Apple's Screen Time features until you reach a daily step goal you set. It is a self-control aid, not a security product, a parental-control service, or medical advice. You can change your goal, your gated apps, rest days, active hours, and pause or bypass the gate at any time. You are always in control of your own device.

StepGate Plus

• What it is. StepGate Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited gated apps and categories, full stats and trends, and the full streak history. The free version of StepGate keeps working without it.
• Plans and prices. Plus is offered as a monthly or an annual subscription. The exact price is shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency, and is charged to your Apple ID by Apple.
• Free trial. Where a free trial is offered, its length and the price billed when it ends are shown before you start it. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription begins and you are charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel in your device's Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or in the App Store. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds are governed by Apple's policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Restoring. If you reinstall StepGate or switch devices, use "Restore purchases" in the You tab to regain Plus on any device signed into the same Apple ID.
• Changes. We may change Plus features or prices for future periods. Price changes never apply to a current period, and Apple will ask you to agree before a higher price takes effect.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use StepGate, including choosing which apps to gate and when to bypass the gate. Don't rely on StepGate to block access in an emergency; iOS always lets you reach emergency services and the Settings app. Use StepGate only on devices you own or are authorised to manage.

Health

StepGate reads step counts to run the gate and draw charts. It is not a medical device and the step goal it suggests is a general fitness estimate, not medical advice. Talk to a professional before changing your activity level if you have a health condition.

Warranty and liability

StepGate is provided "as is". To the fullest extent allowed by law we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of StepGate — including lost time, missed messages, or activity blocked by a gate you set. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for StepGate in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

Termination

You can stop using StepGate at any time by deleting it. We may end this licence if you breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (liability, warranty, governing law) survive termination.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially we will update the date at the top and note it in the App Store release notes. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you rights that cannot be waived.
